As of 2016, Toca Boca is part of Spin Master, a global children’s entertainment company that creates, designs, and manufactures a diversified portfolio of innovative toys, games, products, and entertainment properties. Toca Boca has 99 employees that are based in Stockholm, New York, Toronto, and San Francisco.

In order to be able to create more world-class products for kids, we’re looking for a passionate Business Associate that will be deeply involved in licensing and product development. You will report to the Director of Product Strategy and Licensing and you will be part of the small, core team running the new Consumer Products business area.

We're looking for a Business Associate with:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 2 - 4 years experience in business development, sales, consumer products, and/or marketing. (Experience in licensing is a plus, but not required.)
  • Excellence in the following skill areas: verbal and written communication; organization and time management; problem solving and critical thinking.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required; proficiency in Keynote, Illustrator, MyMediaBox, Dependable Solutions, or other content management software is a plus.
  • Ability to manage several projects concurrently, multi-tasking as needed.
  • Ability to set direction in a fast-paced environment with dynamically changing daily priorities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively, while also executing on projects independently.
  • A team player attitude, able to take direction and work professionally with others.
  • Availability for occasional domestic and international travel.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Licensing:
    • Brainstorm new business opportunities and assess potential partnerships.
    • Communicate with external business partners regularly.
    • Deliver financial updates and present reports on financial results, ongoing sales, and incoming payments.
    • Work with Legal team to facilitate contract updates and monitor compliance.
    • Conduct trend research and market analysis.
    • Assist with planning and coordinating meetings and trade shows.
  • Product Development:
    • Regularly work with designers and producers to review product submissions for compliance, coordinate kick-off meetings, and organize the team’s priorities.
    • Oversee and monitor weekly product submissions.
    • Manage communication with business partners (primarily licensees) regarding approvals and product feedback.
    • Oversee and maintain product development calendar.
